1.Why is there been a dramatic increase in number of computer,related incidents in recent years?


Modern technology is spreading around the globe, and the number of computer experts growing rapidly. Computer incidents are dramatically increasing because people needs money and power. And they can achieve it using technological advantage and capabilities. As our technology becomes more progressive, more hi-tech gadgets, IT devices, and computer softwares were developed the more options for people to make a crime. 




2.What are some characteristics of common criminals? Including their objectives.


IT - Computer Expert dealing with electronic computers and softwares. 
       Who develops computer-based systems.


Hackers - Accesses a computer system by circumventing its security system.


Network Specialist - Someone who deals with computer networks professionaly.


All of these identities above has capability to make a crime using computers. 
They can easily communicate, and  access computer systems. and gather all data they need. 


Probably people have similar objectives - to make money, to have power, to be popular, using technological advantages for terrorism,robbery , etc.


      
3.What actions must be take in response to a security incidents?


No matter how well your network/system is protected, eventually ther will be an incident that you are not prepared to handle it, the problem is technical capabilities. There are some ways to prevent such incidents, some security measures to implement.
It is very important to have a well trained security specialist so that your system is always protected. Security holes, and patches are up to date. Firewall and intrusion detection are fine tuned.
