COMPUTERS 20 YEARS FROM NOW. . .

I think there would be a new generation of computers completely different than these we use nowadays. Computers 20 years from now must be complex, having a huge memory and smaller to handle the amount of information in the future.PC's will continue to get smaller and have more capacity for Storage
It will be like a large mobile phone that holds terrabytes of data
Plays music - Videos - watch live and digital Tv
And will probably be able to plug into your brain to download feelings and thoughtsComputers will merge with the telephone and television. That will satisfy 99% of the people. Nobody wants to program that much.
Future computer technology trends suggest that mankind has not even begun to tap into computational power and networking. In a few years, cloud computing will be so Old School. The PC will be what the mainframe is today. And, Web 5.0 will have finally kicked in.
Not too many years down the road people will drive their future car inside their future city and then go back to their future home and tell their future robots what needs to be done. In the near future, wireless technology will have taken over the world

Just by thinking, they can move robotic arms. Microelectrodes placed in different parts of the brain allow people with muscular dystrophy and other disorders to move cursors and type keys rather adeptly on a computer.
No longer are these experiments done with rats, monkeys or the episode of "House" where a patient move a cursor for "yes" or "no" by thinking about it. There is so much future computer technology that most people don't know about that is happening right now, right under our noses

Just by thinking about logons, passwords, text, photos, music and whatever our heads hold we'll be able to navigate, communicate socially from miles away, Tweet just by thinking and do work on the run.
Future computer technology will allow people who have lost the use of their limbs to use robotics as well as tap into these same networks empowering disabled people like never before.

Future computer software will know when to stimulate neurons, how much, and will communicate with nanorobots that perform microscopic surgery or deliver medicine to very small, specific areas of the body.
The future of computer technology is a very bright one indeed. The current trends tell us this, as well as the research and development that is happening at lightning pace. The children today will have a whole new technological world waiting for them tomorrow. And tomorrow isn't that far away.
Nowadays, computer technology is spreading around the globe. Since the first technology of computers was developing in 19th century it continues its main function – to manipulate data and make things more efficient for people. Works are less time consuming, and worry free.
Computers have become indispensable in today’s world. Millions of people use computers all over the world. Telecommunications, transportation, business, scientific studies, weather analysis, etc. depends on computer technology. We can state that life is easier with the aid of computers.
As time goes on the rate of computer experts/IT companies are rapidly increasing, they keep on developing computer software/hardware and be able to reach the needs of mankind.
How about twenty years from now? Does it continue to help people? Do we still get the same benefit? Or it will just ruin our society.
In the future we will a have a more advance technology. The computer of tomorrow will be very different from that of today, but the advances will only make things better for us, the users. This is simply how we see it now. Only the future will show us the true computer of tomorrow.
Basically physical components of computers will change. Today we see a computer as something that we sit down at a desk to use. We see it as a machine with a monitor, keyboard and a case.

The computers of tomorrow won't be on top of desks, and they most likely won't have a monitor, keyboard and case. But most interestingly of all, we may stop thinking of computers simply as machine. As the future comes, the definition of a computer will rapidly change. The computer itself, will disappear probably everything we see, everything we use are made of computers.

Purpose & Importance of the gadgets. .

Technology around us is really changing at a fast pace and therefore it is very important that we stay in touch with the latest inventions and machines that are becoming a part of our daily lives. Today, you can see new gadgets coming up that are so crucial to us that we can hardly imagine living without them.  Gadget reviews are increasingly becoming popular because it provides more information about the latest gadgets that are available in the market and whether they are really worth buying or not.
We must choose whats the best for our products and help us to make our tasks easier. One of the best way to improve ones job is that having some gadgets in order to accomplish the activities.

2011's New Gadgets. . .

The tablet PC bandwagon

The success of Apple iPad has been really stunning and hence it is not a surprise to see that everyone is making their own iPads. This is really surprising because before iPad, there are a few tablet PCs in the market but their sales were really disappointing. Some tablets are already out while a few others are working on it. These tiny computers are made to compete with Netbook and so far, they have done their job well. A lot of Netbook companies have started complaining that the sales of their products have been declining ever since iPadcame out. For this year, we are expecting BlackBerry Playbook, Asus Eee Tablet, LG Optimus Pad, Dell Streak 7, Apple iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and Motorola MotoPad. This is not all, there will be tablet PCs coming from other big camps too like Palm, HP, HTC and Acer.

What is firewall?

A firewall is a part of a computer system or network that is designed to block unauthorized access while permitting authorized communications. It is a device or set of devices that is configured to permit or deny network transmissions based upon a set of rules and other criteria.

                   Firewall Image

Firewalls can be implemented in either hardware or software, or a combination of both. Firewalls are frequently used to prevent unauthorized Internet users from accessing private networks connected to the Internet, especially intranets. All messages entering or leaving the intranet pass through the firewall, which inspects each message and blocks those that do not meet the specified security criteria.

There are several types of firewall techniques:
  1. Packet filter: Packet filtering inspects each packet passing through the network and accepts or rejects it based on user-defined rules. Although difficult to configure, it is fairly effective and mostly transparent to its users. It is susceptible to IP spoofing.
  2. Application gateway: Applies security mechanisms to specific applications, such as FTP and Telnet servers. This is very effective, but can impose a performance degradation.
  3. Circuit-level gateway: Applies security mechanisms when a TCP or UDPconnection is established. Once the connection has been made, packets can flow between the hosts without further checking.
  4. Proxy server: Intercepts all messages entering and leaving the network. The proxy server effectively hides the true network addresses.

Computer & Computer Incidents. . .

1.Why is there been a dramatic increase in number of computer, related incidents in recent years?

Modern technology is spreading around the globe, and the number of computer experts growing rapidly. Computer incidents are dramatically increasing because people needs money and power. And they can achieve it using technological advantage and capabilities. As our technology becomes more progressive, more hi-tech gadgets, IT devices, and computer softwares were developed the more options for people to make a crime.

2.What are some characteristics of common criminals? Including their objectives.

IT - Computer Expert dealing with electronic computers and softwares.
       Who develops computer-based systems.

Hackers - Accesses a computer system by circumventing its security system.

Network Specialist - Someone who deals with computer networks professionaly.

All of these identities above has capability to make a crime using computers.
They can easily communicate, and  access computer systems. and gather all data they need.

Probably people have similar objectives - to make money, to have power, to be popular, using technological advantages for terrorism, robbery , etc.

3.What actions must be take in response to a security incidents?

No matter how well your network/system is protected, eventually ther will be an incident that you are not prepared to handle it, the problem is technical capabilities. There are some ways to prevent such incidents, some security measures to implement.
It is very important to have a well trained security specialist so that your system is always protected. Security holes, and patches are up to date. Firewall and intrusion detection are fine tuned.
